13.1.4 Testing Windows TCP/IP setup

Use the ping command from a Command Window to test communications.

First, do a loopback test to check if you can ping your own address by using the local IP

address:

C:\>ping 127.0.0.1

Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128

C:\>

Ping your PC’s IP address:

C:\>ping 192.168.0.1

Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128

C:\>

Now ping controller on the network. :

C:\>ping 192.168.0.3

Pinging pc2 [192.168.0.3] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.0.3: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128

C:\>
