TM-T88 Series Technical Manual
CAUTION:
Do not use alcohol, benzene, thinner, trychloroethylene, ketone or other similar agents
for cleaning. Such agents can cause deformation, deterioration, and damage to
plastic and rubber components.
Dirt, lint, dust
Use a vacuum cleaner to completely remove all dirt, lint, and dust.
CAUTION:
After vacuuming, check all components for proper lubrication. If lubrication is
deteriorated or low, wipe it away and re-lubricate.
Lubricants
Lubrication is critical to retaining the printer at its initial performance level throughout its
product life, as well as avoiding potential problems. Always lubricate at prescribed intervals,
using the correct lubricants. Also lubricate each time you clean any parts.
Lubrication Standard
Always lubricate whenever you assemble or replace the parts even if the time for lubrication
has not been reached.
Also lubricate if you wipe out the lubrication during cleaning even if the time for lubrication
has not been reached.
To lubricate, clean the parts first to remove old lubrication; then lubricate them.
Type of Lubricants
The types of lubricants used greatly affect the printer’s performance and durability. Therefore,
use the correct lubricants prescribed in the manual. The prescribed lubricants are available in
40cc (40 gm) metal cans or plastic containers (the smallest unit of supply).
Lubrication points
See Lubrication Points Diagram section in the Appendix.
