5-32 Disassembly, Assembly, and Adjustment Rev. A
The following is the installation procedure:
1. Pass {guard tube} through {lead wire-paper cutter}.
2. Pass the four {shield tubes} through the four wires of {lead wire-paper cutter} individually.
3. Solder {lead wire-paper cutter} to {motor-paper cutter sub-assembly} and {microswitch
MLS-1Aus} in accordance with the following table.
4. Move the four {shield tubes} to the soldered connection and use a dryer to shrink them.
5. Install {microswitch MLS-1Aus} on {cover-paper cutter assembly} and secure it with {screw-
switch}.
CAUTION:
Tighten this screw with the specified torque of 0.176 N·m {1.8 Kg·cm}. Overtightening
this screw can deform {microswitch MLS-1Aus} and result in printer malfunction.
6. Hook the {microswitch MLS-1Aus} lead wire in the cut of {cover-paper cutter assembly}.
7. Install {motor-paper cutter sub-assembly} on {cover-paper cutter assembly} and secure it
with the single {CB M2x2.5} screw.
CAUTION:
Tighten this screw with the specified torque of 0.245 N·m {2.5 Kg·cm}. Overtightening
this screw can damage the screw and the parts around the screw.
8. Pass {lead wire-paper cutter} through the hole of {frame-paper cutter assembly}.
9. Move the {guard tube} on {lead wire-paper cutter} towards {motor-paper cutter sub-
assembly} as far as it will go.
10. Lubricate the {motor-paper cutter sub-assembly} gear with G-19.
11. Lubricate three locations of {frame-paper cutter assembly} with G-15.
12. Lubricate the {gear-drive} gear on {cover-paper cutter assembly} with G-19. See the
illustration in step 13 of this procedure for the location of the {gear-drive}.
Note:
The {gear-drive} is an unremovable part.
13. Install {cover-paper cutter assembly} on {frame-paper cutter assembly}.
