RLP Setup

On the printer definition page of SAM, use the following

settings:

Printer Name: Any name

Remote System Name: Use name in /etc/hosts

Remote Printer Name: Nothing or ’lpa’, ’lpaf’,

etc, if using filters

Remote Council Model: /bin/true

Remote Status Model: /bin/true

Make System Default: Enter as appropriate

Printer Class: Nothing

Restrict Council: Nothing

Remote Printer on BSD system: Nothing

To print, use either rlp or the following:

lpd -d <host name>

Using FTP with HP-UX

Follow these steps to use ftp with HP-UX:

1. Type the following:

lpshut

lpadmin -p<spoolername> -m <modelscript> -v/dev/

null

accept <spoolername> enable <spoolername>

lpsched

2. Create a model script:

vi/usr/spool/lp/model/lan.model

1 2 ... 60 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70 ... 90 91
