The
AtariWriter
Vlord
Processor
was
designed
for
certain
AT
ARI
printers:
the
AT
ARI
820,
822
825,
and
1025
Printers.
This
meant
that
ATARI
Home
Computer'
owners
wno
have
other
kinds
of
printers
had
t:.o
go
through
a
oomp1icated
procedure
to
use
Atari\'Vr:i:t.er--until
now.
The
AtariWrit.er
Printer
Drivers
program
allows
owners
of
other
printers
that
are
canpatible
with
the
AT
ARI
Home
Computer
to
enjoy
the
power
of'
AtariWriter.
The
Printer
Driver
diskette
lets
you
use
several
pcpular
printers:
the
ATARI
1020
and
1027
Printers,
several
EPSON
printers,
a
GEMINI,
an
IDS,
a MANNESMANN TALLY, a NEC,
two
OKIDATA
printers,
and
a PROWRITER
printer.
The
Printer
Driver
loads
into
computer
memory
When
you've
set
up
your
AtariVlriter
cartridge
with
a
diskette
oontaining
DOS
and
the
driver.
When
you're
using
a
Printer
Driver
routine,
you'll
notice
that
there's
less
computer
memory
available
to
you.
This
manual
shows
you
how
to
deal
with
large
files.
AtariWriter
uses
commands
fur
special
formatting
and
printing
cptions
available
on
your
printer.
For
example,
the
GEM
INI
10
allows
you
to
underline
words
or
Phrases.
Before
the
Printer
Driver,
you
either
did
without.
the
underlining
option,
or
used
the
Centrol
Codes
option
to
send
all
the
control
codes
through
the
text
to
your
printer.
The
Printer
Driver
configures
Atariwrit.er
to
deal
with
each
printer
individually.
You
can
take
advantage
of
ycur
printer's
cptions,
and
all
of
AtariWriter's
op:ions,
without.
having
to
use
oontrol
codes,
You
can
underline,
elcngate
characters,
add
superscripts
and
Subscripts,
and
use
any
of
the
features
you
find
in
the
AtariWr:i:t.er
manual.
